MD I would like to see abortion remain legal but very rare. There was a case in Brazil where a 9 yr old girl became pregnant with twins after being raped by her stepfather. Brazil has a very Catholic, very tough hardline on abortion. Abortion is illegal in Brazil. The doctors told the girl's Mom that her pelvis wasn't big enough to carry these twins. The girl would die. the Mom consented to an abortion to save her daughter. The Catholic Church in Brazil excommunicated the Mom and the doctors but not the stepfather because although what the stepfather did was heinous, it wasn't as bad as the abortion. I don't know what Mom would watch her 9 yr old daughter die this way. this story received quite a bit of media coverage for a while. Here is the link to the article from Time Magazine:
